BIOPRINTING AND 3D PRINTED HYDROGELS

3D printers slowly became quite common devices in comparison with the past and can now be employed for a variety of applications.

 

Due to their biocompatibility and applicability in a huge number of fields hydrogels are perfect candidates for 3D inks to produce organs that mimic the structure of the human ones. Although it sounds like science fiction, this is now reality, as confirmed by Fu and his group, who demonstrated the employability of 3D printed hydrogels with optimised parameters for cell culture.
